WORLD WITHOUT COMPUTERS

                        Computers are very useful now days but before anything else let’s define world without such technology. It’s like a life that full of regrets because every life is wasted. It’s like we don’t have chance to enjoy life to the fullest. Just for example in the hospital specifically the doctors can’t extend the life of person who’s in critical condition because we don’t have any technology that is invented to help the patient. Though life before was very simple but then if we going to compare life today before is non-sense. 
                        Now let’s talk about world without computer. Oh! Everything will not be easy and it’s a waste of time, effort and money. For example every time we are going to write a letter and something is wrong we will repeat it again from the start but if we are going to type in the computer if something is wrong we just click the delete and everything will be alright. Computers are very useful in many ways like keeping all the records in one computer without consuming many papers and space in a room.
                         Education without computers is very hard especially with the students like me who used to have computers. I really love to surf internet  and for me it’s really hard to remove the computer while I’m studying because of my teachers and professor always give assignment the will be possible using computers unlike books I need to spend lots of time to look for the answers. Also in registrar in the school their work becomes easy with the use of computers.

SKILLS COMPETITION 2012 ( COSPLAY)

In the First place Congratulations to all Camarin campus for being the champion again in the skill competition. I really enjoyed this competition because of all participants. I'am one of the participant in Quiz bee but unfortunately I'm not belong to the winners but I enjoyed because to be honest I didn't expected that I can answer the question they have given especially those in the difficult but I admit I'm wrong with the spelling. I'am with Janine Gutierrez and Mariel Gariado. We are all wrong the spelling of Polyvinyl Chloride because we thought that vinyl is spelled as Venyly. It is really sad because its equivalent with the 5 points. Also we are confused about the Healthy Skin that they being asked by the host. Last year in cosmetology Professor Tupaz told to us that the Healthy skin is the "OILY SKIN" but then the correct answer is the "Normal skin". But it's okay it's really one of the best experienced ever this year. It was also a bonding moments with my classmates







I'm also happy because I've seen again my professor last year.



                                           It is the scene where we are like in the hot sit answering the question bring asked by the host.


The skills competition was also the opportunity for my classmates and friends to have bonding. 






I really Enjoyed watching Janine Gutierrez in Category of Flair Tending. I was really amazed with his dance and also and her tricks will doing the flair tending. She's great. All the audiences, The Alumni, Professor, Students and Judges are enjoyed watching her. I don't said that because she is my classmate it's just the truth. 





The last event is the COS-PLAY. I also enjoyed watching the beautiful and creative students. The representative of different year level are so great. Doing good in make up and recycling just to come up with the costume. All in all I enjoyed the program. I just have suggestion. In table skirting my classmate are having hard time to bring all the materials needed because from main campus they are going to bring the skirt and also the centerpiece. The skirt should be available in Camarin so the participants will not bring it and also I hope that those who are from camarin will be bias in anything. That's all. :)

                We cannot stop the pervasiveness of  Technology now. There's a lot of new technology invented every day but we all now that it was invented because before we are doing a lots of activity by just our hands but not really now a days. Because like japan we are also equip with the technology though some of the schools and even hospitals can't afford to have that updated technology. Fortunately, our government has doing their job in different schools here in the Philippines even to those in the province just to be updated in using technology. They have a lots of project for it. That's why I can proudly say that in my generations all students are really computer literate. It's just we are locking of budget to have some one.
             


                    "It was pointed out that the advent of the computer is recognized as the third revolution in education." The first invention was the printing press, the second, the introduction of libraries; and the third, the invention of computer and my fourth  prediction is the laptop shown in video above. So easy to bring everywhere you go. It's not bulky not just like the laptop but on the other hand it's not safe to bring it in public because its easy for those thief to get that gadgets but you just need to take care of it well so that it will not stole it to you. It's very helpful to all the students because they will not carry a bulky things on their way to school and I think If wll have that we be globally competitive in terms of using future technologies.


Just Like what I said earlier we can't stop the pervasiveness of technologies we are only now in 2012 but then at the video above it is the computer maybe in 2020. I was shocked and amazed when I watch that video. A  pen like can now a computer. It is a computer that have a lithium battery and it can project like a computer and it also project a full size keyboard on any flat surface it's a pen with a laser. So anything you type on keyboard project will analyze by the laser. Another thing that its good about is that the only owner can manipulate the pen so you loose the pen no one can use it and also you recover the date if you have back up your files in your watch. You can bluetooth all you data. It will really be Hi-tech in this coming years. It's up o us if will gonna update our computer or just be contented on what version or generation you have.

Reaction 4 :) Sofa


The Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) is a United States bill introduced by U.S. Representative Lamar S. Smith (R-TX) to expand the ability of U.S. law enforcement to fight online trafficking in copyrighted intellectual property and counterfeit goods. Provisions include the requesting of court orders to bar advertising networks and payment facilities from conducting business with infringing websites, and search engines from linking to the sites, and court orders requiring Internet service providers to block access to the sites. The law would expand existing criminal laws to include unauthorized streaming of copyright material, imposing a maximum penalty of five years in prison. A similar bill in the Senate is called the PROTECT IP Act (PIPA).
  I’m not really against sopa but before I state my stand in this issue let me state first the disadvantage of sopa and the disadvantage of it. First it will be really helpful in industry of movies. They can earn money because everyone will patronized their movies because there is not act of piracy but can’t we think that those students who are studying in public and their teachers told them to watch this movies and that movies. Without piracy how they can afford to buy an original copy of those movies? The fact that they are just studying in public school. The only way for them to do their reaction paper is to watch it on the internet, YouTube and any website that they find those movies. I think they are just making a business. I know it will realy to our industry but still poor people will affect about it.
 We should really think of a ways to stop piracy. I think lets have limitation on the movies that they will be banned to stop piracy. Like for example those are really having a great help to education. There’s a lot of ways to stop piracy but I hope Sopa will not be successful because there will a lot changes in surfing internet and all the students will having a hard time to do their assignment and who are slow in suing computer can't follow well because of those changes.

                        Is the field of study which is concerned with the process of using educational methods and resources for the ultimate goal to facilitate teaching-learning process.Truly, the foundation for a truly satisfying exposure to educational technology has been firmly laid down by the ET 1 course, starting with the thorough treatment of the history of educational technology.

History of educational technology

Quality of Education through educational technology
§  As educators become more keenly aware of their responsibility to deliver the best quality education to students, they have began to recognize the need to be aware of educational technology.
§  With photo copier, now students can have a copy of relevant sections of books and articles and take them home for study.

In ET 1 the learner also oriented of dangers of dehumanization.
1.    We turn them on and off whenever it suits our fancy.
            2. No explanation is offered on why and what they do.
            3. Their plans and future are unheard.
4. All work and no play.
            5. Their human worth is judged only by the quality of their products.
6. Human empathy is absent.
On the application of educ. Tech. to instruction ET1 showed the 4 phases of educational tech. in teaching-learning namely;
1.    Identification of objectives-logical approach to human activities, there must be care in ensuring that selected objectives are relevant to the learner’s needs.
2.    Design of learning experiences- the teacher must consider (a) sequences and strategies and (b) modes and mediac.
3.     Evaluation of the effectiveness of the learning experiences- the use of evaluative devices, (a) observation devices: checklist, rating scales, anecdotal records (b) self-report instruments: inventories, questionnaires (c) test items: essay and objective types.
4.     Improvement of the learning experiences as to better achieve the objectives- revisions may be done, such as by changes in the media or materials employed.
5.     Message-content to be taught.
6.    Medium-the shape of the message.
7.    Channel-is the vehicle or the structure through which the medium is presented to the learner.

LESSON 2

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

ü  To, provide education with the use of Technology in instruction by providing knowledge and skills on Technology Integration-In-Instruction to learners.
ü  To impart learning experiences in Instructional Technology supported instructional planning.
ü  To acquaint students on information technology or IT related learning theories with the computer as a tutor.
ü  To, learn how to use and evaluate computer-based educational resources.
ü  To engage learners on practical technology integration issues  including managing IT classrooms, use of the internet for learning, cooperative learning through the use of information technology, etc
ü  To inculcate higher-level thinking and creativity among students while providing them knowledge of IT-related learning theories.

Educational Technology 2 is intended to improve education over what it would be without technology.
Some of the claimed benefits are listed below:

v  EASY-TO-ACCESS COURSE MATERIALS
Instructors can post the course material or important information on a course website, which means students can study at a time and location they prefer and can obtain the study material very quickly.

v  STUDENT MOTIVATION
 Computer-based instruction can give instant feedback to students and explain correct answers. Moreover, a computer is patient and non-judgmental, which can give the student motivation to continue learning.
According to James Kulik, who studies the effectiveness of computers used for instruction, students usually learn more in less time when receiving computer-based instruction and they like classes more and develop more positive attitudes toward computers in computer-based classes.
The American educator,
 Cassandra B. White, researched and reported about the importance of locus of control and successful academic performance and by the late 1980s, she wrote of how Important computer usage and information technology would become in the higher education experience of the future.

v  WIDE PARTICIPATION
Learning material can be used for long distance learning and are accessible to a wider audience.

v  IMPROVED STUDENT WRITING
It is convenient for students to edit their written work on word processors, which can, in turn, improve the quality of their writing. According to some
studies, the students are better at critiquing and editing written work that is exchanged over a computer network with students they know.

v  SUBJECTS MADE EASIER TO LEARN
Many different types of educational software are designed and developed to help children or teenagers to learn specific subjects.

v  DIFFERENTIATED INSTRUCTION
Educational technology provides the means to focus on active student participation and to present differentiated questioning strategies.
It broadens individualized instruction and promotes the development of personalized learning plans. Students are encouraged to use multimedia components and to incorporate the knowledge they gained in creative ways.

Goal

Government with the education and technology sectors, community groups, and industry envisions to support to the development of the capability of schools to use information and communication technologies in teaching-and-learning and in administration.

Strategies:
—        Improving learning outcomes for students using ICT to support the curriculum.
—        Using ICT to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of educational administration.
—        Developing partnership with communities to enhance access to learning through ICT.
Focus Area:
—        Infrastructure for increasing school’s access to ICT’s to enhance education
—        Professional development so that school managers and teachers can increase their  capacity to use ICT.

LESSON 5
More recent ET education practice

•           Through school or training center computer courses, present-day students have become computer literate. They send e-mail, prepare computer encoded class reports, and even make power-point presentations sometimes to the surprise of their media tradition-bound teachers.
•           Following the call for developing critical thinking among students, teachers have deemphasized rote learning and have spent more time in methods to allow students to comprehend/internalize lessons.
•           Shifting focus from lower-level traditional learning outcomes, student assessment/examinations have included measurement of higher level learning outcomes such as creative and critical thinking skills.





•           Recent teaching-learning models (such as constructivism and social constructivism) have paved the way for instructional approaches in which
Students rely less on teachers as information-givers, and instead more in their efforts to acquire information, build their own knowledge, and solve problems.

Obstacles to IT pedagogical practice


·         Use of the computer is time-consuming and expensive.
·          Besides there also danger of a technology-centered classroom along the fear that computers may soon replace teachers.
·         Teachers should balance their time for the preparation and application of instructional tools. Through wise technical advice, schools can also acquire the most appropriate computer hardware and software. At the same time, training should ensure that the use of ET is fitted to learning objectives.
·          In addition, teachers should acquire computer skills for so that they can serve as models in integrating educational technology in the teaching-learning process.schools should now foster a student-centered learning environment, where in students are given leeway to use computer information sources in their assignments, reports and presentations in written, visual, or dramatic forms.

LESSON 6
MEANINGFUL LEARNING
It focuses to new experiences that are related to what the learner already knows. it assumes that:
v  Students already have some knowledge that is relevant to new learning
v  Students are willing to perform class work to find connections between what they already know and what they can learn

DISCOVERY LEARNING
The students perform task to uncover what is to be learned.
            GENERATIVE LEARNING
It viewed students as active learner who can attend to learning events, it is different from the simple process of storing information.
            CONSTRUCTIVISM
In constructivism, the learner builds a personal understanding through appropriate learning activities and good learning environment. The most accepted principles are:
v  Learning consists in what person can actively assemble for himself and not what he can receive passively.
v  T he role of learning is to help the individual live/adapt to his personal world.
Three practical implications:
v  The learner is directly responsible for learning.
v  The context of meaningful learning consists in the learner “connecting” his school activity with real life.
v  The purpose of education is the acquisition of practical and personal knowledge, not abstract or universal truths.
The common themes for the four learning domains:
            LEARNERS
v  Are active, purposeful learners
v  Set personal goals and strategies to achieve these goals
v  Make their learning experiences meaningful and relevant to their lives.
v  Seek to build an understanding of their personal worlds so they can work/live productively.
v  Build on what they already know in order to interpret and respond to new experiences
